The Missoula Anarchist Contingent

The Missoula Anarchist Contingent is an action-based collective of libertarian anti-capitalists that was formed in the fall of 2009 after the collapse of a previous group called Missoula In Action. Our philosophy is that we must actively be the change we seek, and pursue that change with regular actions, big or small. Our decidedly coarse motto is "DO SHIT!", chosen in order to shake people out of their apathy or armchair communitarianism. We aim to build systems of collective support free of state and capital through the formations of such projects as free kitchens, horizontal learning workshops, and a literature collective; we also try to build community consciousness by facilitating such events as moneyless markets (something like a swap meet) along with social and musical gatherings. We are an ardently ANTI RACIST, ANTI SEXIST, ANTI HOMOPHOBIC, ANTI STATIST AND ANTI CAPITALIST collective, and do not compromise on these points.
