Camden Co Mo CERT training success!

Hello, all!
KE0LMY here!
I am fresh off of Search and Rescue training with the Camden County, MO CERT and the Sunrise Beach Fire Department and let me tell you, both groups are singing the praises of ham radio operators to help them do their jobs in emergencies! It was fantastic to hear such good things and have so much support from these two groups. Some members of the Camden Co Mo CERT have their ham licenses and others are in the process of studying for them!
I’d like to thank Lori Favilla and Eric Hoover (Assistant Director and Director of CERT, respectively), as well as Bob Howell (CERT Training Coordinator) for facilitating this training effort. I’d also like to thank the firefighters who took the time to illustrate the use of the Sked and teach us Search and Rescue techniques.
Per the Sunrise Beach Fire Department, “Members of Camden County CERT came out to Station 1 tonight to learn some search and rescue techniques from B Platoon. Hats off to Lieutenant Blake Miller, FF Tanner Winkelman, FF Patrick Renner, and FF Brent Andrews. Time well spent between two groups who could work together during a disaster.”
As volunteers, we are there to help the pros, so having the pros teach us what they need us to do seems like the most logical step! I look forward to many more opportunities to train with these groups, as well as others, to expand upon my knowledge and abilities!
Thank you to my talented daughter, KE0LMZ, for photographing the full training event!
