New Atheist Ad Campaign Boldly Criticize the Bible

The American Humanist Association has launched its largest atheist ad campaign ever -- with a message that directly attacks the Bible.

In the past, the group's campaign was more subtle, with simple messages like, "No God, No Problem."

But the latest string of commercials, billboards and print ads takes scriptures about subjects such as smiting, slavery and women's submission, and uses them negatively.

"In the past, we've said, 'Yes, we're good without God,' but that's not enough. We need to show how," said AHA executive director Roy Speckhardt. "And one way to do that is distinguish ourselves from those who get their morality only from the Bible."

One ad featuring atheist scientist Richard Dawkins attacks faith itself.

A voice in the commercial reads a Bible verse saying, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding."

"There's all the difference in the world between a belief that you're willing to defend by quoting evidence and logic, and a belief that's supported by nothing more than tradition, authority or revelation," Dawkins responds.

Todd Stiefel became so dedicated to the atheist cause, he quit his job and now runs his own secularist foundation, helping to pay for these ads.

"The Bible is an imperfect moral source of lessons," he claimed. "You can't take it as something infallible. It is not perfect."

Speckhardt said he's not worried about his soul as he blasts the text that many believe to be the holy word of God.

"I'm afraid not," he told CBN News, chuckling.

The group also has an ad aiming at the Koran.
