NY Politicians Took Bribes to Keep Wal-Mart Out of NYC

Wednesday, March 16, 2011
Maybe we can take up a collection and bribe NY polticians to stop the Ground Zero mosque. That's all these corrupt pols understand. Betrayed at every turn -- and we pay for this abuse.

Two Brooklyn politicians took bribes to meddle in affairs like Wal-Mart, according to a federal sting.
State Sen. Carl Kruger and Assemblyman William Boyland, both Brooklyn politicians, were part of an eight-person group that surrendered yesterday  morning.
Kruger and Boyland are accused of taking $1 million in bribes — and then sponsoring or supporting legislation, along with directing taxpayer money and asking for favors, for people who paid.
Janice Fedarcyk, the FBI’s assistant director in charge, called the investigation “eye-opening even to seasoned investigators and prosecutors.”
Included in their illegal meddling was Kruger’s opposition of a “retail superstore” in Brooklyn — opposed by small-store retailers that the FBI said hired Kruger.
FBI agents shadowed them at restaurants and tapped their phones, catching them at “a luxury hotel in midtown Manhattan” and conferring in cars near Union Square.
Defendants used “the mail” to refer to payments and “memo” to refer to checks, FBI agents said in the complaint.
Kruger could be sentenced to 60 years in prison, and Boyland faces up to 20 years in jail.
