The 2019 David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger competition is over, and Team 19’s Captain John Bergman and Captain Michael Rose of the 101st Airborne Division are the victors.
On Friday, April 12, the 36th annual event kicked off on Fort Benning, Georgia, with 54 two-man teams vying for the title. After two days of physically and mentally strenuous events, only the top 16 teams were still competing on Sunday.
After taking the lead on Saturday, Bergman and Rose secured their victory after Sunday’s final event, the two-mile buddy run. They were officially announced as the 2019 Best Ranger winners during a ceremony today on Fort Benning.
